Tom Nash was born in Ammanford in Camarthenshire, and studied art at Camarthen and Swansea, and also in Paris. He won the Crawshaw Travel Scholarship and had a studio in Biot in the Alpes-Maritimes which he shared with the American abstract artist Paul Jenkins. He exhibited with the Royal Cambrian Academy and had several one man shows, including with the Redfern Gallery and the Gagliardi Gallery. He travelled extensively through Europe, and his paintings, usually inspired by nature, demonstrate jewel like colours, dynamism and a depth of emotion in the abstract expressionism tradition.
