My aim is to find beautiful, affordable pictures and to make buying art more accessible for everyone

Having worked in the art world for more than twenty years I am always on the hunt for pictures that have something special. Rather than following trends, I tend to go for works by lesser-known artists, as well as some contemporary artists. I am also a fan of original prints and think that they are often underrated - the processes that go into to making them are highly skilled, and the result can be beautiful pieces of art that offer excellent value.

I studied History of Art at university, and went on to work for Rupert Maas, of the Maas Gallery which deals primarily in Victorian and Pre-Raphaelite art, a working relationship that continued for twenty years. During my time at the Maas Gallery I learned a huge amount, most importantly how to really look at a piece of art, to see beyond the name and to find something special.  Rupert’s championing of lesser-known Victorian and Modern British artists has also inspired me.

Where possible I retain the original frame, but if necessary I frame the pictures myself and I also hold a small stock of antique frames. Framing is of the utmost importance - many good pictures are let down by bad frames so each picture I sell is framed carefully and to conservation levels. I also arrange any necessary cleaning or conservation.

I am based in south Somerset and am very happy to arrange viewings at my home. I usually sell to private individuals but have also worked with interior designers. Please feel free to get in touch with any questions.
